pcBIRD is a six degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) tracker on a PC card. It measures the position and orientation of its small sensor referenced to a magnetic transmitter. Its electronics board plugs into the ISA slot of any PC computer. That means fast delivery of sensed data to your application.

Use it to interact in real time with powerful PC software programs in virtual reality, simulation, test, CAD, 3D pointing, visual analysis, biomechanics, medicine and more.

pcBIRD gives you 6DOF tracking using our patented pulsed-DC magnetic fields. No matter which way you turn, measurements are never lost. Tracking is inherently stable without motion overshoot, lag or drift. pcBIRD works accurately even in conductive metal environments.

Best of all, pcBIRD was designed with professional requirements in mind. Accuarcy is the highest of all PC-based trackers in the market. pcBIRD dedicates a separate processor for each sensor. So, whether tracking one or many sensors, each makes up to 144 measurements per second without escalating lag as seen in AC magnetic trackers. That's especially critical in virtual applications where consistently fast dynamic performance is needed to smoothly sync head and hand motions with display imagery.

pcBIRD is available with a number of options. To add more sensors, simply plug in more pcBird cards to your PC. The sensor is also available in a 6D Mouse. Use it with a glove for 3D pointing and interaction with virtual displays, as well as for manipulating images at the workstation. Or shift up to the extended range transmitter for long-range tracking. It stretches motion tracking out to room-sized areas for virtual walkthroughs, motion analysis and character animation.
