Integrated Virtual Battlefield [IVB]

Product Description

5DT has the technology to create synthetic virtual worlds (imaginary landscapes) or reality-based virtual worlds (based on real landscapes). Utilizing computer network technology, up to 127 different entities may share this virtual world. Computer Graphics models and Performance models of entities have been developed. The entities may be computer controlled or controlled by human operators (in simulators). Special effects, to enhance the realism of the battlefield, have been developed, e.g. realistic sound effects, explosions, fire, smoke and dust. The result is a very realistic tactical simulator with intelligent participating entities. The scenes may be rendered in full color or in simulated InfraRed. The system may be customized for a specific user.

Four virtual attack helicopters fly in formation (view from the cockpit of the fourth helicopter). Each virtual attack helicopter (referred to as an 'entity') is connected to the computer network. Each entity is controlled either by a human operator (trainee), or by a computer (computer generated forces). the integrated virtual battlefield [ivb] is ideal for tactical training.
Attack Helicopters Flying in Formation
The integrated virtual battlefield [ivb] is ideal for joint force training. The entities share the virtual landscape by means of a computer network. Each entity is controlled either by a human operator (trainee in a simulator), or by a computer (computer generated forces). This image shows an attack helicopter, jeeps, main battle tanks (mbts) and a foot soldier with a rocket launcher participating in a joint force training exercise.
Joint Force Training: Color View
This image is the pseudo infrared version of the image 'joint force training: color view'.

Joint Force Training: Pseudo InfraRed View
Special effects like explosions, smoke and dust makes a training exercise much more realistic, as it provides the participants with important feedback.

This image shows a mission control 'radar'. The mission control radar is used mostly by the mission controller and/or instructor. Within the integrated virtual battlefield framework, the radar is also an 'entity'. The radar entity may be placed at any specific point in the virtual world. It could also be attached to a moving entity like an aircraft to provide for an active airborne radar.
