This Computer Based Training (CBT) system teaches the trainee linesman how to perform repairs and maintenance on High Voltage Transmission Lines safely and correctly. The system contains a collection of High Voltage line repair procedures. The tools and repair/replacement procedures are addressed by means of images, text descriptions and video clips. The system features a Study Mode and an Evaluation Mode.In the Study Mode the trainee systematically works through the database of images (with related text information) and video clips. In the Evaluation Mode the system presents the trainee with a grouping of randomly selected images/questions that must be identified/answered and categorized. A database of trainee proficiency is maintained.

It is important for a linesman to know which tools to use for a specific procedure. The 'tools' screen shows all the relevant tools on the left, with the names of the tools on the right. As the trainee moves his/her mouse over a tool in the image, the tool itself is highlighted (hotspot) and the tool name is also highlighted. If the trainee clicks on a tool name, the relevant tool will be highlighted in the image on the left.
Learn Mode: Tools		 Once a linesman knows which tools will be used for a procedure, the procedure steps must be learned. The 'steps' screen shows the steps (top-left) and a detail description of the step (bottom-left). A video screen on the right shows the procedure being performed. the procedure steps, step descriptions and video footage are synchronized.
Learn Mode: Steps		 In the evaluation mode the trainee is required to arrange the procedure steps in the correct sequence.
Evaluation Mode		 Once the trainee submits his/her sequence of procedure steps, the system immediately evaluates it, and provides the trainee with feedback. The trainee's running score is updated instantaneously.
