Experimental Avionics Test Bed (EATB)

Experimental Avionics Test Bed [EATB]

Product Description

The objective of this system is to evaluate and test new avionics configurations and layouts while flying over a landscape that closely resembles reality. The system has 3 Out of Window (OOW) screens as well as an avionics screen. The avionics screen is a touch screen. The system also has a synthetic Head Up Display (HUD). The virtual aircraft is controlled by means of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) throttle, joystick and pedal controls that provides inputs to the flight model of the aircraft.

Several other virtual aircraft (and land based entities) share the virtual environment. These may be controlled by other operators (via other flight stations that are connected with the computer network) or they may be computer controlled. The aircraft is equipped with a virtual radar and radar-guided missiles which may be fired at the other aircraft. A radar model and a missile guidance model have been implemented.
